Description
Quilt boxes are assembled: glued, stapled with dovetail joint. 2 1/8" depth above 1/8" hardware cloth (3/8" shim underneath). There are two 3/4" ventilation portals: 1 on each opposing corner of the long sides. Fill the 2 1/8" space above the hardware cloth with light fluffy wood shavings (NOT wood dust!) or burlap. Moist air will pass through the quilt box material and condenses at the top, the ventilation portals allow it to dry out. If you need to provide emergency winter feed (fondant, winter patties, etc.), consider using a spacer rim underneath the quilt box.
